This is less about the Arabic release than the release process in general. They say there are no rules, but then they list rules. They use dogfooding, testing their own product, so employees check out the course before it goes live. They catch a lot of problems this way, and no, it isn't the only thing they do to keep it magic, it was just the most memorable one.
Lots of A/B testing.
I'm not really sure if I got any insight into duolingo's process or product, but it was a decent skim. I'm glad they share what they do.
