so they use the word rebrand, actually. I'll admit to confusing java and javascript, as this article says many have done before. That's one of the key reasons for renaming. But also it is difficult to tell what version of javascript an api is written for, because there isn't a standard name for different versions. so using things from github can be difficult. a new name and naming convention would maybe solve some of these problems.
